There is Something in the Sea

My 8 year old has been exceeding grade level standards for writing this year. Such a HUGE improvement from last year when he could hardly read or compose a sentence coming into the 2nd grade. He has impressed everyone this year with his creative Granny Smith story series (stories about a Grandma that is a Granny Smith apple).

This is a poem he wrote that just won a writing award.

There is Something in the Sea

There is something in the sea, 
there is something in the sea.


There is something in the sea, 
what could it be?


Maybe it's a dolphin and he is looking at me.


There is something in the sea.


Maybe it's a crab with claws,
grabbing and pinching.


There is something in the sea!


I go in...
it's a shark!
